IRVING, Texas — 7-Eleven is offering seven free beverages to every customer who uses the 7Rewards loyalty app to boost morale during the coronavirus pandemic.
Customers have their choice of any-size hot coffee or fountain beverages, one per day. Once they have redeemed all seven beverages, 7Rewards members can continue purchasing any-size hot coffee for $1 or Big Gulp drinks for 49 cents.
Customers in U.S. states, counties and cities with shelter-in-place or clerk-serve beverage mandates will only have access to the offer once restrictions expire.
“While our stores work hard to ensure shopping environments are clean and safe, we know we need seven times more energy than usual to feel somewhat normal right now,” said Marissa Jarratt, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for 7-Eleven. “We know it’s hard getting back into the swing of things. So, whether it’s helping you get that cup of coffee to kickstart your day, dropping the price on a Big Gulp drink to cool the summer heat or offering you a stylish hat to cover that haircut you gave yourself, 7-Eleven is here to help get the ball rolling. Together, we’ve got this.”
7-Eleven’s hot beverage lineup includes its Seven Reserve Kenya Single Origin coffee and the new White Chocolate Blueberry Crumble Steamer hot chocolate. Among its fountain beverages is the new Jarritos Craft Soda in Mandarin, the first time the popular Mexican soda has been sold as a fountain drink.
This continues 7-Eleven’s recent foodservice initiatives amid the pandemic. In April, 7-Eleven launched pizza and alcohol delivery specials as a means to boost sales during COVID-19. Less than a week later, the company joined with national delivery platforms Postmates and DoorDash, in addition to offering its proprietary 7Now delivery app, to make delivery from 7-Eleven stores available to more areas. In mid-May, 7-Eleven launched ready-to-bake, take-home versions of its popular food items to increase foodservice occasions during the pandemic.
