Somewhere in North America (the place is irrelevant to the point of the story), there were Girl Scout girls selling their cookies outside a cannibas store. They sold 230 boxes in a 4 hour ship making their strategic location a gold mine.
Of course there were people screaming loudly about how improper the act of allowing children to stand on a sidewalk outside a cannibas store and selling Girl Guide cookies. Others commented on what a brilliant idea.
One theme that this story clearly illustrates is the old saying “fish where the fish are”. For retail, this couldn’t be more true especially with the ease of online ordering. You can’t be everything to everybody but you can be everything to a selected group (target) of customers.
