In the US, Amazon has just launched instant pickup, a new service that lets customers order from a limited list of basic supplies using their app, and then pick them up from a nearby pickup locker within two minutes.
The company’s ambitious plans is first aiming at university and college students that have sudden cravings for snacks. Within the next few weeks, the service will be available at 22 college locations.
As a Prime member, customers order from a list of hundreds of non-perishable foods, personal care items, and other products stocked at these pickup locker locations. Once you arrive to get your order, you can also order impulse items while there and get them immediately.
Amazon constantly tests new waters by creating disruptive services to see if they are valued and adopted by existing and or attracting new customers.
