Target management has been busy focusing on a new direction to differentiate itself in a crowded space.
In the new Target Express store located in Chicago, the company is looking to allow customers to have a drink while they shop.
In its Minneapolis headquarters, there is a concept store that reflects the Target goal to move away from “being all things to all people” and instead focus on four key categories. The first is style in fashion, home apparel and other products, where it earned its French-sounding nickname “Tar-zhay”. The others are baby clothes and accessories; kids’ clothes and accessories; and health and wellness.
Planting in your mind “you can’t be all things to all people” is a good start to defining what the future convenience store offer looks like.
