On July 25th, health warnings on advertisements for soda and other sugar-added drinks will be required in San Francisco.
The American Beverage Association fought the implementation of this new rule and was not successful.
The new health warning will require billboard and other advertisements to include the disclaimer:
“WARNING: Drinking beverages with added sugar(s) contributes to obesity, diabetes, and tooth decay. This is a message from the City and County of San Francisco”.
The new regulation will require the warning message to cover 20%.
